The IWC 2019 Awards Dinner took place earlier this month at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The event, also known as the “Oscars of the Wine Trade”, revealed the highly anticipated winners of the Merchant of the Year, Champion Trophy and Winemaker of the Year awards.
Le Vignoble was awarded the prize in recognition of its efforts to become ‘the ultimate wine heaven’ – offering customers a one-stop shop for wine education, a wine lounge and a wine shop at both their Milsom Street (Bath) and Royal William Yard (Plymouth) addresses.
The International Wine Challenge Merchant Awards UK celebrate the most successful small and large businesses, who deliver an outstanding service to wine consumers.
The awards are based on top quality wines, but, most importantly, in this sector of the awards, of a commercially successful, viable, and proven business model.
The Le Vignoble team said it is very proud of their incredible achievement, which gives them recognition of their hard work and dedication over the past 7 years to develop Le Vignoble into the ultimate wine business.
Competition was tough – Le Vignoble were up against fifth generation family wine merchants, Averys of Bristol.
Yannick Loué, owner of Le Vignoble, said: “It is a great achievement to have won the South West merchant of the year award at the IWC 2019, and this is something I am very proud of.
“Being an independent family owned business it is a huge accomplishment to be recognised by the leading experts in the industry as the best in the region, especially as we are amongst many other great wine merchants.
“We hope residents of Plymouth & Bath will be equally as pleased that we have won this award, as they now have the best wine merchant in the region on their doorstep.”
