Bath Tourism Plus Ltd is looking to appoint two non-executive directors to serve on its board, to advise on digital communications and audit and finance matters.

Bath Tourism Plus Ltd is managed, at arms-length, by Bath & North East Somerset Council, but takes direction from its entirely private sector, non-executive directors.

It is responsible for promoting the area to domestic and overseas visitors, and delivers initiatives to support its growing membership made up of businesses involved in the visitor economy in Bath and the surrounding area.

The company also manages the city’s Visitor Information Centre (one of the busiest centres in the country) and runs events including the Bath Christmas Market.

Applicants with expertise in digital communications or finance who can demonstrate the ability to look objectively at the company’s performance, and make balanced judgements based on the evidence, are sought. Tourism, visitor economy or marketing expertise is highly desirable.

Reasonable travelling and subsistence expenses will be provided for these roles to support attendance at approximately four meetings a year, and provide ad-hoc advice.

Applicants must not be connected in any way to serving councillors, nor have any direct links with the Council. All applicants must carefully consider any potential conflict of interest issues, either present or future, prior to applying for this role.

It is important that the Board protects its objectivity and develops a reputation for impartiality; candidates will need to demonstrate at interview how they have considered and propose to address this.

If you feel this role is of interest to you, please apply for further details by e-mail to [email protected].

For an informal discussion, contact Andy Mullet, Company Secretary, on 01225 322425.

The closing date for receipt of interest is Friday 30th June 2017.
