Bath Riverside will once again sponsor the Bath Cats and Dogs Home Fun Day and Dog Show, helping to ensure the popular event goes ahead this Bank Holiday Monday, 26th August.

The event raised £21,000 for the Claverton Down-based home last year.

Nicola Cragg, Animal Care Manager at Bath Cats and Dogs Home said: “Preparations are already well underway to make sure everyone has a fantastic day out at the Fun Day, we can’t wait to see our visitors enjoying themselves and helping us to raise money for the animals we care for.

“You get a real sense that all those attending the event, whatever their age, love animals as much as we do, and we can’t thank everyone enough for supporting us and helping to raise lots of money for the animals in our care.

“Thanks to Bath Riverside’s support last year we were able to put on a fantastic day enjoyed by almost 2,000 visitors.

“The amazing support we received from everybody last year helped us rescue, rehabilitate and rehome 1,100 animals. The Fun Day is a great day out for families.”

Bath Cats and Dogs Home also reunites stray animals with their owners and also cares for other pets which have been neglected or abused.

The Home also runs a free fortnightly veterinary clinic for homeless people with dogs.

Last year Bath Riverside helped raise money by staging an outdoor screening of 101 Dalmatians.

Marcus Evans, Sales and Marketing Director from developer Crest Nicholson, said: “As an enthusiastic dog owner myself I can see the great service the Bath Cats and Dogs home provides for pets who aren’t as lucky.

“We are happy to support an organisation which provides care and support for unwanted animals, the Home takes in animals when they are in most need and works hard to rehabilitate and rehome them.

“They also have an amazing team of volunteers who help with the animals and make sure they have all the love and care they need.”
