The owners Kate and Nigel Smith stood before the Dragons on the new series of the BBC Two show, seen on Sunday evening.
Pitching their new ‘Makeaway’ kits, they showed the five multimillionaires their idea for craft boxes which can be taken home and built using materials provided in the box.
The Makery operates two outlets in Bath; one on Walcot Street where there are teaching classes for crafty locals, and another in Northumberland Place, the Makery Emporium, where locals can buy all sorts of craft related goodies.
The couple sought investment in their second outlet to help provide added manufacturing opportunities and PR to the business.
Though the business didn’t receive any investment from the Dragons, Kate and Nigel received feedback for their brand, as well as being given great encouragement for their work.
In a blog post about the show, The Makery team said: “It was terribly scary, but a good experience overall. Kelly and Deborah in particular were lovely, so thank you ladies! But most of all, thank you all you gorgeous customers for your supportive comments – you’ve made us feel much better!”
You can watch the show on the BBC’s iPlayer for the next few days here.
