Bath charted accountants Milsted Langdon are celebrating after being shortlisted in the Family Law Support Service of the Year category at this year’s Family Law Awards.

The multi-award winning chartered accountants find out if they have won at the awards on Wednesday 8th October.

The Milsted Langdon forensic accountancy team understands the importance of adopting different approaches to different types of family law litigation support.

As single joint experts, they appreciate the need to be scrupulously and transparently fair to both parties so as to be able to build the trust that is vital if expert opinions are to be accepted.

By contrast, in their role as shadow expert or expert adviser, the Milsted Langdon team focuses on the importance of dogged and robust financial investigation techniques to uncover undisclosed earnings or assets.

In an increasing number of cases, one of most valuable aspects of their forensic services is the provision of bespoke advice on tax and pensions that help a family to divide assets in a manner that maximises the amount available to each party.

Having a dedicated forensic tax partner with specialist knowledge of tax in divorce within the team means that they can often suggest financial solutions that the family accountant may not have appreciated were possible.

Family Law Support Service of the Year is one of just three categories where a public vote determines the winner.

Voting closes at midnight on Monday 8th September 2014 and details can be found on the organiser’s website: http://books.jordanpublishingsecure.co.uk/updates/vote.asp.

Now in their fourth year, the prestigious event will take place at The Brewery in the City of London after the annual Family Law Conference.

Sir Paul Coleridge, now a retired judge of the High Court of England and Wales, will be hosting the awards.
