The A366 at Farleigh Hungerford has been blocked this morning after a car was in a collision with an electricity pole at the side of the road.
The incident happened at around 7.45am and the road remains blocked.
It is believed the pole fell to the ground after the collision, meaning the road could stay closed for some time while electrical engineers make the area safe.
Avon and Somerset Police are advising drivers to take an alternative route, there are currently delays of around 20 minutes.
