Young people aged 11 – 19 have the chance to take part in a host of exciting events thanks to T.G.I. Wednesday, a free, monthly gathering run by the Council.
The sessions, which take place at Riverside Youth Hub on the first Wednesday of every month between 7 and 9pm, encourage young people across Bath to meet together for positive activities.
The events will celebrate young peoples’ skills and abilities with a degree of healthy competition whilst giving them the opportunity to make new friends. Staff at Riverside Youth Hub also hope that the activities will boost the number of young people that use the facility.
Councillor Dine Romero (Lib- Dem, Southdown), Cabinet Member for Early Years, Children and Youth, said: “Bath & North East Somerset Council aims to provide opportunities that will help young people make a positive difference to their lives and the T.G.I. Wednesday gatherings are a perfect example of this as they deliver a safe, fun and stimulating experience.”
Upcoming events include:
- 5th June – Basketball knockout trophy competition
- 3rd July – Rap, Poetry and Spoken Word Night
- 4th September – Art and Craft Experience
- 2nd October – Battle of the Bands.
The next T.G.I Wednesday gathering will take place on Wednesday 5th June, 7 – 9pm at Riverside Youth Hub, York Place, London Road, Bath, BA1 6AE.
