Budding writers are invited to join a new creative writing group running at one of our local libraries.

The self-running writing group meets at Midsomer Norton Library on the fourth Monday of every month from 5pm to 7pm. The group is suitable for any writer from beginner to the more established. The next get-together is on Monday 22nd October.

Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “Bath & North East Somerset Council is pleased to welcome the writing group to Midsomer Norton Library as we’re keen to help everyone participate in cultural activities. Writing can be a wonderfully rewarding but sometimes lonely experience and this group gives writers the opportunity to meet up and talk with others for a bit of feedback and support from like-minded souls – ranging from poets to thriller writers!”

The group is very informal so if you cannot make it for the 5pm start time then just join in when you can get there. Anyone who may be wary of joining established groups should be reassured that the writing group is still forming so new people will be welcomed wholeheartedly as founding members.
