Public consultation is underway on the new Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) which enables local authorities, including Bath & North East Somerset Council, to raise funds from development in their area to provide key infrastructure needed as a result of development.

Once adopted, the CIL will operate alongside scaled backed Section 106 contributions. The Council will be listening to people’s views about the draft Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule.

There will be a further consultation in Autumn 2012 following further refinement of the Draft Charging Schedule before the document is submitted to the Secretary of State in December 2012.

How to have your say:

The documentation is available for public inspection in:

  • The Guildhall, High Street, Bath, BA1 5AW;
  • The Hollies, Midsomer Norton, Bath, BA3 2DP;
  • Riverside, Temple Street, Keynsham, Bristol, BS31 1LA.

Access is available between the hours of 8.30am to 5.00pm Mondays – Thursdays and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Fridays.

The document can also be viewed on the Bath & North East Somerset Council website http://www.bathnes.gov.uk/cil and during library opening times at all the public libraries within the District including the mobile libraries.

All comments must be received within the consultation period which will runs until 8th June 2012. Further information can also be obtained by telephoning 01225 477548 or emailing: [email protected]
