Avon and Somerset Police closed off a section of Moorland Road on Wednesday afternoon after a G4S security money van was targeted in a robbery at the Lloyds TSB branch.

The van was targeted at around 11.15am that morning while making a cash delivery to the branch in Oldfield Park. A number of members of the public tried to detain the offenders though they did get away with what is thought to be a ‘substantial’ amount of money.
A member of the public who tried to assist in the capture of the thief was slightly injured and was transferred to the RUH.
