The finishing touches to recent repairs on Churchill Bridge will be made by Bath the Council during mid-September. These will require the closure of the bridge for up to seven nights between 8pm – 6am from Tuesday 11th September 2012.

A diversion route via Midland Bridge Road will be in place for vehicles and a pedestrian diversion via Southgate Foot Bridge will be signed. Electronic advance driver information signs will be in place at the site several days before the works.

The Council say they are grateful for the continued patience and understanding of drivers, people on foot, and people who ride bicycles ans that they are working as quickly as possible to complete the project.

Information on how the closure affects the road system and bus services will be available on their website from Thursday 30th August 2012 – www.bathnes.gov.uk clicking on the ‘Churchill Bridge Maintenance’ link under Featured Links. Signage has been updated on and around site to inform people.

To report any problems or issues, people can contact Council Connect via www.bathnes.gov.uk/reportit  or [email protected] or call 01225 39 40 41 or Text SMS 07797 806545.
