We’re on the lookout for an advertising sales manager to join our team! Could it be you?
The Bath Echo is a popular independent free newspaper based in the city of Bath. Launched online in 2015 and going into print as a fortnightly publication in August 2019, we have experienced steady growth and are now looking to increase ongoing sales with the addition of this new role.
We are looking for a dedicated and engaged individual to join the Bath Echo team, selling both digital and print advertising to businesses and organisations across Bath and the surrounding area.
The ideal candidate for this role will have had at least 2 years of proven sales or marketing experience, preferably within advertising.
You’ll be working closely with the editor and production team, helping us to grow the publication and become a well-known brand in the area.
You will have the confidence to approach businesses and organisations both on the phone and face-to-face, developing new business relationships and providing tailor-made advertising solutions to suit their needs.
The role will be based at our offices in Bath, with a minimum of three days per week in the office, and two working from home (if required).
What we require:
- At least 2+ years of sales/marketing experience, preferably in advertising
- Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
- Confidence to pick up the phone and speak to potential clients
- Skilled in using Outlook, Word, Excel etc.
- Previous experience using a CRM is preferable
- An ability to meet and exceed targets
- Be able to work independently when required
Your duties will include:
- Sales of advertising (print and digital) across Bath and the surrounding area.
- Keeping in touch with current advertisers to meet their advertising needs and offer new opportunities when they become available.
- Dealing with incoming sales enquiries.
- Maintaining a good relationship with clients and ensuring artwork is received on time and to the correct specification.
- Travelling to meetings with clients, as required.
Useful information:
- Your working hours will be 9am – 5pm, Mondays – Thursdays and 9am – 4pm, Fridays.
- You will be expected to attend business/networking events, which may sometimes be outside of the usual working hours.
- Bonuses are be available on top of your salary, if targets are met/exceeded.

Salary: £24,000/year + performance-based bonuses
