Widcombe Hill in Bath will be closed for five days later this month while Wessex Water carries out sewer repair work, with a diversion being put in place via Bathwick Hill.
The closure will begin on Monday 24th July, with a diversion in place via Bathwick Hill. Access will be maintained for residents but may be restricted at certain times.
Ryan Coombs, task controller for Wessex Water, said: “The road closure has been timed to coincide with the summer holiday period at the University of Bath in order to minimise disruption.
“However, we appreciate that this is a popular route from Claverton Down to the city centre and apologise for any inconvenience caused by our essential work on the sewerage network.”
Wessex Water has written to residents and the university and there will be no disruption to sewerage services while the work is being carried out.
