Young entrepreneur, Celia Adams owner of Bath Cake Company has acquired Country Cupcakes. Nikki Cameron, founder of Country Cupcakes, which won the 2009 National Cupcake Award, is handing over her piping bag to Celia in order to spend more time with her family. Celia is looking forward to running Country Cupcakes alongside Bath Cake Company from her bakery in Lansdown Mews.
Bath Cake Company is creating the cake for the couple who won the Bath Chronicle “Win a Wedding Competition”. Celia says that, “Acquiring Country Cupcakes will enable me to expand the wedding side of the business. It will also increase opportunities for making cupcakes for special occasions, running cupcake classes and children’s cupcake parties.”
Celia began baking celebration and novelty cakes for friends and family and then started selling from her own stall at Green Park Station’s Saturday Market in April 2010. The pretty, colourful stall attracted many loyal customers and two months ago, building on this success, Celia moved from Green Park into her bakery in Lansdown Mews. As well as baking delicious cakes and traybakes for cafes such as the Egg Theatre Café and Café Lucca, Celia holds cake consultations in the bakery for customers who want bespoke celebration and all manner of novelty cakes. She also opens the bakery to retail customers on a Saturday morning. As well as delicious cakes and favourites like chocolate brownies, customers can buy sugarcraft equipment, edible glitter, cupcake cases, cupcake sprinkles, cake stands, sugarpaste, cutters and much more. She also stocks bread from the Thoughtful Bread Company.
National Cupcake Week begins on September 12th so watch out for what’s on offer from Country Cupcakes’ new owner at the bakery in Lansdown Mews!
