This week, The Pig is mostly…
CELEBRATING all things good at Bath’s only authentic Nepalese bistro Yak Yeti Yak, who have recently reopened the doors to and unveiled a transformation that includes a collection of bespoke, handmade screens between tables that make social distancing a uniquely beautiful experience. The new interactive live booking system (part of the restaurant’s brand new website) makes booking for up to 6 people a really simple, secure experience, while introducing a non-refundable deposit, taken on booking, discourages the dreaded no-shows that are currently blighting the restaurant industry. Good work, Yaketeers! (https://www.yakyetiyak.co.uk)
TUCKING into a taste of the Thai Hut (Green Park Station) at home courtesy of their brand new e-bike home delivery service. Menus are uploaded to the website by 11am daily, minimum order is £15 (plus £4 delivery) and all dishes are ideal for reheating, while the curries freeze especially well. Fancy getting all Thai-up too? Call or text your order to 07738 383241 between 12.15-3pm Wednesday-Saturday (https://www.facebook.com/thaihutbath)
THRILLED at the news that the Peking Restaurant (Kingsmead Square) – who recently reintroduced their takeaway service – is reopening for full evening restaurant service from Monday 27 July; call 01225 466377 to make that all-important booking (http://www.pekingrestaurantbath.co.uk)
LOVIN’ Homewood’s brand new Olio terrace and pizzeria, overlooking the hotel, spa and restaurant’s magnificent, manicured, mesmerising gardens – if you were looking for a reason to go (tastefully!) wild in the country, this is it! Bear in mind that the glorious restaurant and stylish bars are open too, but note that pre-booking for food and drink is currently essential; call 01225 723731 or visit the website (https://www.homewoodbath.co.uk)
AIMING to clearing up the Eat Out to Help Out confusion! The scheme – which aims to provide a government-funded boost to the struggling hospitality industry – operates from 3 August-31 August, and participating restaurants/food establishments will offer customers a 50% discount on food or soft drinks (up to a maximum of £10pp) every Monday-Wednesday – and that’s that! Want the full lowdown? Here’s the link: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/get-a-discount-with-the-eat-out-to-help-out-scheme.
