This week, The Pig is mostly…

GETTING my thinking cap on at the Thoughtful Bakery (Barton Street). As well as ‘those’ legendary pizzas available to click’n’collect every Friday and Saturday evening, tasty new initiatives include working lunches available for delivery every weekday plus home delivery/click’n’collect classic Afternoon Teas on Saturdays, Doughnut Selection Boxes on Friday/Saturdays and Thoughtful Brownie Gift Boxes, also available for delivery throughout the UK. Very Thoughtful indeed! (https://thoughtful-bakery.myshopify.com)

PLANNING on eating all the Pies by Plate available to click’n’collect from The Bird every Friday/Saturday evening. Plate Head Chef Leon Smith has created three beautifully crafted pies (Chicken and Tarragon; Fish Pie; Sweet Potato and Spiced Lentil) all accompanied by mash and veg and all priced at £15pp, plus Winter Berry Cheesecake up for grabs on both nights, too. Pre-order by 5pm the day before and collect between 5-8pm on Friday or Saturday; to book, call 01225 580438 or email [email protected].

ENJOYING as much of a staycation experience as we’re allowed at the mo by breaking a walk/fresh air session with coffee and cake from Herbert’s Cafe, by the big play area in Royal Victoria Park. It’s open every day from 9.30am-4pm… and it’s lovely. But remember: play safe, people!

GETTING all lurved up just thinking about the Olio at Home/Homewood click’n’collect Valentine’s Day menu, which includes swoonsome delights such as a mixed mezze sharing platter, Beef Wellington, dark chocolate delice and chocolate truffles, available on Saturday 13/Sunday February. The menu costs £25/£32 for 2/3-courses, and there’s a smoochy Afternoon Tea option too. But Olio isn’t just for V-day! Check out the weekend takeaway menu too: preorder by 5pm on Fridays and collect your bootie from the front door of Homewood, without leaving your car (https://www.homewoodbath.co.uk/food-drink/olio-at-home/)

LOVIN’ how Castle Farm (Midford) ‘theme’ their At Home Supper Club boxes by putting a Spotify playlist together and writing a quiz to accompany each one. This weekend’s Supper Club is all about ‘At The Theatre’, putting modern and classic dishes (productions?) in the spotlight and even including ‘Interval Snacks’ – round of applause, please! Further Farm frolics: Friday Night is Curry Night and Sunday brings Roasts to the roundup; click on the link for all you need to know (https://www.castlefarmmidford.co.uk/cfathome)
