This week, The Pig is mostly…

LOVIN’ the results of the recently unveiled lockdown revamp undertaken at the Garrick’s Head (St John’s Place, Saw Close, adjacent to Theatre Royal): sparkling chandeliers, glamorous loos, extended outdoor seating area – it’s all going on! Good work, Garrick’s guys (http://www.garricksheadpub.com)

SENDING hearty congratulations to Tunley Butchers, who are relocating from their long-established Green Park Station ‘shed’ to brand new, permanent premises under the Green Park Station roof any day now (http://www.tunleyfarmbutchers.co.uk)

EAGERLY anticipating investigating Widcombe’s newest Indian restaurant Bikano’s (25 Claverton Buildings) at our earliest opportunity. “Honest inspirations from recipes and flavours experienced in several parts of India”? Bring it on! (https://bikanos.co.uk)

BECOMING addicted to keeping an eye on Larkhall’s very own oasis of French fabulosity Ma Cuisine’s regularly updated weekend take away menu, available for pre-ordered collection from their St Saviour’s Road HQ. Recent specials have included wholly authentic bouillabaisse, duck cassoulet and fabulous Cote de Boeuf for two… but there’s usually even fish and chips on the menu too! Get with the programme, Piggies – but be warned: orders for Friday/Saturday early evening collection must be placed by 5pm on Fridays (https://macuisine.co.uk)

REMINDING all Piggies that we’re embarking on the final week of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme: the highly successful government-funded initiative that aims to provide a much-needed boost to the struggling hospitality industry. The scheme – in which participating restaurants/food establishments offer customers a 50% discount on food or soft drinks up to a maximum of £10pp every Monday-Wednesday – finishes on Monday 31 August. Or does it? Rumours about EOTHO being extended (or reinstigated later in the year) abound… (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/get-a-discount-with-the-eat-out-to-help-out-scheme)
