This week, The Pig is mostly…

SPOILT for on-the-hoof caffeine fix options again! The coffee machines at Cascara (Upper Borough Walls), The Forum Coffee House (St James Parade), Rosario’s (Northumberland Place), The Colombian Company (Abbeygate Street) and Society Cafe (Kingsmead Square) are fired up alongside all manner of grab’n’go sweet and savoury treats, and social distancing access layouts in all of ’em are exemplary.

DELIGHTED to see Noya Pawlyn reopening the doors to her St James Parade Kitchen offering a small selection of tantalising dishes for us to enjoy at home. Dishes on a curry/ Bún Ch? theme vary from week to week, are freshly cooked on the day of collection and come with full instructions on reheating to serve at home; pre-order by 8pm on Wednesdays for collection on Friday-Saturday afternoons between 3-5pm (https://www.noyaskitchen.co.uk/)

CELEBRATING the fact that the Bath Pizza Co are firing up their ovens again in Green Park Station from 12noon-8pm every Wednesday-Sunday – great to have you back, guys! (https://www.bathpizzaco.com)

INTRIGUED by Taiwanese pastry chef Fang-Yu Lin’s Larkhall based Sugarcane Studio: “French patisserie with an Asian flavour” resulting in what we believe to be one of the most uniquely fascinating, fabulous menus of Macarons, Madeleines,Marshmallows, Choux Buns and bespoke cakes in the West Country; order online or buy ‘live’ at Bath Farmers’ Market every Saturday morning (https://www.sugarcanestudio.co.uk)

STAKING out the 28-day matured steaks on the Joya Italian Steakhouse menu, available for takeaway or home delivery. For sure, cooking a decent steak at home is hardly rocket science… but the joyful Joya chefs take the concept of a sublime steak supper to another level altogether (https://www.joyarestaurant.co.uk)

GOING carb crazy (in an exceedingly tasteful way, of course) courtesy of Walcot House’s fresh pasta/fresh pasta sauce combos, all made from locally sourced ingredients and packaged up as meal kits. A refrigerated delivery service brings your feast direct to your door on Thursdays and Fridays (visit website for which postcodes are covered on which days) and pay heed: the green spinach reginette with smoked ham hock, cider sauce and peas is heavenly… (https://www.walcothousebath.com/pastakits)
