This week, The Pig is mostly…

EAGERLY anticipating Bath’s ‘coming out’ party going on all over town from Monday 12th April – it’s been a long time coming! Keep an eye on the Pig Guide Twitter feed for regular updates on which businesses are opening their (alfresco) doors, but until then (and beyond): stay and play safe, Piggies! We’re not quite out of the Covid-19 woods yet.

GETTING all Thai’d up again from Wednesday 10th March when the wonderful Thai Hut street food stall (Green Park Station) will be up-and-running again for the first time in 2021. Welcome back, Thai guys – you have been sorely missed. (https://facebook.com/thaihutbath)

EATING all the Darcy Pies, which are popping up for sale at pop-up delis at both the Inn at Freshford and the Cross Guns (Avoncliff) on a regular basis alongside fabulous sausage rolls, homemade cakes, tasty snacks and hot and cold drinks to take away. (https://darcypies.com)

AWAITING the next announcement with bated breath… no, not that one! The one from No. 15 Great Pulteney, who will be stepping out of lockdown into “a whole new chapter, revived, renovated and rebranded, retaining all of your favourite things but with an added element of fun and a little bit of wonder.” All will be revealed shortly, but I already have an inkling that this is gonna be exciting stuff indeed! (https://www.no15greatpulteney.co.uk)

THRILLED to see that Bradford on Avon Food and Drink Festival gearing up to party again from Saturday 17th – Sunday 18th July. Tickets are already on sale, and bookings from artisan food producers and Street Food stalls are being taken right now. (https://scrumptiousfoodfestivals.co.uk)

REALLY looking forward to welcoming a brand new branch of Dough Pizza to the thriving Kingsmead Square scene: you’ll find their brand new branch (plus wonderful alfresco terrace) at no. 9, open from Monday 12th April (https://www.doughpizzarestaurant.co.uk)

CELEBRATING park life! The merry little treat-zone that is Herbert’s Cafe (by the big play area in Royal Victoria Park) is now open 7 days a week, while their adorable Little Coffee Cart in the super-pretty, super-tranquil Royal Botanical Gardens) is open Monday, Thursday, Friday and weekends from 9.30am – 3pm.

INTRIGUED by the notion of ‘Chefs, Movies, Music and Comedy’ promised by the creators of Pub in the Park and Drive & Dine Theatre, coming to Warleigh Lodge Farm Thursday 6th – Saturday 9th May. Who’s cooking? Tom Kerridge, Rick Stein, Jason Atherton, Paul Ainsworth and Atul Kochhar. What kind of entertainment can we enjoy after we’ve driven in, while we dine? Visit the website for full details. (https://thealfrescotheatre.co.uk)
