The stunning Wise Children company bring a half-term must-see for all students of drama and for those who love endless visual creativity whilst telling a great story.

Based on the film by Alfred Hitchcock, the double-crossing spy thriller is brimming with inventive, glorious ideas that have the firm stamp of Emma Rice at her very best.

The small company multi role with ease and clearly enjoy the rapport with the audience from the outset.

Directed with precision by Rice and choreographed by the brilliant Etta Murfitt, the cinematic element of the story is captured by a clever design by Rob Howell and an atmospheric lighting design from Malcolm Rippeth. Costumes by Rob Howell are also beautifully considered.

It is a great collaborative event, which once again reflects a wisdom and vision that both inspires and allows great humour.

Katy Owen as the Professor holds the stage throughout; a diminutive figure who commands attention and interacts with the audience with ease. Mirabelle Gremaud, Patrycja Kujawska, Simon Oskarsson, Karl Queensborough and Ewan Wardrop are multi-talented performers whose energy never falters.  The twist of the final moments hold a huge punch and as with Bluebeard, Rice ensures a message is received and fully realised by the full house.

The predominantly Brechtian approach ensures we accompany them on their journey with ease.

There are so many visual delights to enjoy, but no spoilers here. Just Go!
