Fidget Theatre has created an energetic, interactive show to lead us through the story of Football Freddie.

A football-mad, anxious child who wishes to play football in the park with the big kids but just can not find the confidence to join in.

Thanks to a little bit of time travel, Freddie (Rhiannon Canoville-Ord) meets up with her Uncle Fred (Tom Hardman) a former professional footballer.

Uncle Fred transports Freddie to his greatest moment and with a heartwarming pep talk, Freddie might just be ready to move out of the backyard and onto the local pitch.

There is much to like in this engaging piece. Performances are strong and with strong multi-role playing by Tom Hardman we meet other characters along the way.

The interactive elements from team singing, crowd muttering to an ingenious game of audience football ensures the space is alive with chatter and joy.

There is no need to be a mad football fan to enjoy this show, it is well-conceived and bounces along at a good pace. Well worth a watch.
