We all know the insurance market has been a tough one to navigate 2024. So what can you do to try and find a better value policy?
Review your cover.
Are you doing the mileage you’re insured for? You may well be insured for 10,000 miles but only doing 6,000. You can check MOT certificates for an accurate reading.
Does a friend/family member use your vehicle under their ‘driving other cars’ cover?
It is always worth asking for a quote to add them, they could actually improve your premium!
Finally, have you considered adding a voluntary excess?
This is essentially you agreeing to contribute a bit more in the event of a claim – many insurers will present you a more favourable premium because of this.
Sorting your insurance is not just a tick-box exercise. In fact, you could even be losing money by paying for an insurance premium that won’t cover you.
A broker can advise you on the best ways to tackle your policies, and discuss your concerns in person, to give you clarity and peace of mind.
At Howden, we pride ourselves on our people-first approach, making sure you can talk to us whenever you need us, however you need us.
