YHA Bath is one of the 72 Youth Hostels throughout England and Wales that will be throwing open its doors to local community on Sunday 8th September to celebrate YHA Day 2013.
YHA Bath is hosting a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party to celebrate YHA Day 2013. They will be organising a range of themed activities such as a Mad Hat competition, Cheshire Cat treasure hunt, Through the Rabbit Hole game, make your own bunny mask and face painting. Food and drinks will also be available and visitors will have a chance to explore the hostel and discover all that it has to offer.
As well as showcasing the facilities available at the Youth Hostel, the free event is a ‘thank you’ to people who live in the area in which YHA Bath is based. Last year volunteers across England Wales gave 120,000 hours of help so that the youth hosteling charity can continue to provide outstanding accommodation, learning experiences and facilities for young people and their families.
YHA Bath explained: “We are really looking forward to YHA Day 2013. It is a great opportunity for us to show visitors and the local community all that we have to offer, above and beyond great value accommodation. YHA Day is also a thank you for our community’s continued support.”
YHA (England and Wales) Chief Executive Caroline White added: “We really appreciate all the support we get, especially in the communities where we have our hostels. YHA Day is our way of saying thank you and for anyone hasn’t seen what we have to offer or been through our doors this is a great chance to find out what we’re all about, and to share in the great welcome we offer.”
In the last six years more than £20 million has been invested in Youth Hostels throughout England and Wales. Many boast private en suite family rooms, restaurants and bars with some even having honeymoon suites; and you don’t have to be a member to stay with YHA (England and Wales) although you do save money.
YHA was awarded a top five ranking in the Best UK Hotels category in the Guardian, Observer and guardian.co.uk Readers’ Travel Awards 2012. YHA (England and Wales) was ranked at number four just behind the luxury chain hotels, Sofitel, Hotel Du Vin & Bistro and Malmaison.
