The popular Widcombe Christmas Market is set to return next month, offering an array of handcrafted gifts at three venues.

Back for its eighteenth year, the market will take place on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November.

The three venues – Widcombe Social Club, Natural Theatre Company and St. Matthew’s Church (which is open on Saturday only) – will be open from 10.30am until 5.00pm on Saturday and 10.30am until 4.30pm on Sunday. Entry to the market is free.

The venues are all within close walking distance of each other at the bottom of Widcombe Hill and within easy reach of the bus and train stations.

The market is a favourite for locals and offers the perfect chance to find gifts for friends and family or to bag yourself a beautifully crafted treat, buying direct from local artists and makers.

This year there will be seventy-five creative local artisans, selling a range of arts and crafts including ceramics, jewellery, Christmas cards, glasswork, natural soaps, seasonal wreathes, prints, photography and wood carving.

St. Matthew’s will be offering homemade cakes on Saturday, and Widcombe Social Club has a bar and refreshments all weekend.

Clare Furlonger, the organiser of Widcombe Christmas Market, said: “Widcombe Christmas Market is a great place to do your Christmas shopping!

“We are a friendly, volunteer-run event which gives local artists and makers the chance to sell their arts and crafts direct.

“Shoppers will find a warm welcome and a host of unique, handmade goods in three relaxed and accessible venues.”
