Komedia Bath has teamed up with Kelston Records to present a one of a kind festival for local residents at the Old Barn site at Kelston Roundhill, near Bath, next month.
With panoramic views of Bath, Bristol and beyond, organisers say The Old Barn at Kelston Roundhill is a festival site like no other.
The short approach to the barn through the fields ‘sets it apart from the everyday world’, and builds a sense of anticipation for the unique celebrations of music, poetry and the landscape that have become a regular occurrence here.
Once Upon a Hill Festival will be the pinnacle of Kelston Records’ summer events programme in association with Komedia; a day of music, friends and ideas at the height of summer, at one of the very highest points in Bath.
The Old Barn, once a Victorian threshing barn, has been adapted for events that slip seamlessly from outdoors to indoors.
There’s electricity for lighting and sound, a small kitchen, loos and shuttered windows to keep the weather out and the warmth in.
The big barn doors open into a walled courtyard – a half-sheltered space to spill out to; a threshold between the cosy interior of the barn and the vastness of its setting.
There will be a cash bar, food available all day and random acts of musical kindness. People wishing to camp for free, with views from your tent across the Avon valley, may do so by prior arrangement.
The line-up for this unique event includes:
- Stick in the Wheel (Headlining)
- Haiku Salut
- The Greg Cordez Quintet
- Rock of Eye
Advance tickets will cost £26, and £16 for students with an NUS card.
Doors will open at 2pm, music starts at 3pm. All ages welcome. To buy tickets, head to the Komedia website here.
