Following the success and popularity of the first city-wide egg hunt in 2015 which celebrated the egg theatre’s 10th birthday, The Great Big egg Hunt is returning for Easter 2019.

The egg theatre will be once again filling the streets of Bath with individually-decorated 12 inch eggs, encouraging residents, tourists, families and children to find them all.

The free activity will take place during the Easter holidays and May Bank Holiday weekend, with the eggs on display in various retail and community spaces around the city centre from 13th April to 12th May.

Public participation in the Great Big egg Hunt is free, with maps and question sheets available from the egg café, participating outlets and online.

Locals are being encouraged to find all the eggs, answer the questions and send in your egg pictures, for a chance to win prizes including family tickets for this year’s pantomime and egg theatre.

The Great Big egg Hunt is being supported by local businesses, including the Bath Echo, schools and organisations.

There are a number of sponsorship slots still available. Sponsors can, either decorate one of the 29 eggs in their own style, or work in partnership with a school, using the design brief as an opportunity to work alongside local children and forge links within the community.

There is also a unique opportunity for a Gold Sponsor to redesign the egg-shaped donation box that is located on the egg reception desk.

All monies raised through sponsorship will be going towards the eggpot bursary fund, which subsidises places on outreach activities and workshops for children who would not otherwise be able to participate; and the ongoing upgrade of the egg theatre’s accessibility programme, offering more audio described, signed and relaxed performances at the egg theatre.

For further information on how to participate, contact Anji Henderson via [email protected].

The Great Big Egg Hunt will take place around the city centre of Bath from 13 April – 12 May 2019.

Confirmed sponsors for this year’s egg hunt include:

  • Framing Workshop;
  • Nicholas Wylde;
  • San Francisco Fudge Factory;
  • Southgate Bath;
  • Zenith Global;
  • Bath Building Society;
  • Bath Echo;
