The streets of Bath will be brought to life this summer and autumn with a series of events which celebrate the city’s vibrant evening scene, with the first set to take place later this month.

The first Bath at Twilight will take place on 21st June and will be back on the third Thursday of the month until October.

Brought to the city by the Bath Bid and Visit Bath, Bath at Twilight will feature a summer market, late-night shopping and a range of entertainment.

The evenings have been curated to showcase different aspects of Bath’s modern culture from 12pm – 8pm on:

  • 21st June – Summer Solstice
  • 19th July – School’s Out for Summer
  • 23rd August – Your Bank Holiday Starts Here
  • 27th September – Freshers’ Week
  • 25th October – Autumn Food Celebration

The summer market created by the organisers of Bath’s award-winning Christmas market will take place in Union Street where fair-trade crafts and produce from local businesses and artisans will be on offer.

David James, CEO of Visit Bath said: “The Visit Bath Christmas market team has huge experience of pulling together attractive and high-quality events and we are delighted to be working with the BID to create a bespoke evening market for Bath at Twilight.

“We hope that visitors and residents will make the most of the city this summer, enjoying a more tranquil pace and the city’s fabulous range of eateries.”

Shop’s will be opening late to offer everything from stylish clothing for men and women to beautiful homewares. For the first event, Jazz at the Vaults is on offer from 8.30pm at St James Wine Vault or for singles looking for love there is a dating night at Circo Bar.

Thermae Bath Spa is offering twilight sessions every evening from 4pm onwards – watch the sun going down from the rooftop pool after enjoying the evening market and Southgate will be hosting World Cup matches on their big screen.

Allison Herbert from the Bath BID is pleased to be supporting the initiative. She said: “Just once a month, we are encouraging businesses to remain open and celebrate Bath at Twilight with us.

“Here at the BID, we work hard to ensure that the city maintains its ‘Purple Flag’ for a diverse and safe evening economy.

“We are proud to show off our safe and beautiful city in the early evening and would encourage businesses and residents alike to come in and enjoy Bath at Twilight.”

Bath at Twilight is a great opportunity to explore and rediscover the best of Bath at a leisurely pace. Park & Ride buses will be operating every 20 minutes until 8.30pm.
