The Carers’ Centre in Bath is looking to local residents across the city for help to support its bid to run a Summer of Fun for young carers this summer.
The Aviva Community Fund is offering support and funding to inspirational local projects, voted for by the general public.
Throughout the month of May, you can register and vote for your favourite local project, one of which is the ‘Summer of Fun for Young Carers’ project run by the Carers’ Centre.
There are over 3000 young carers in Bath & North East Somerset, looking after siblings, parents or grandparents who can’t manage without their help.
This makes it more difficult for them to make friends or go out and play as other children might do.
Summer can be especially difficult as they can become even more isolated having 6 weeks without school to get them out of the house.
The Carers’ Centre ‘Summer of Fun’ project will enable young carers to take a break from their caring role, take part in fun activities and enjoy the chance to make friends with other young people who understand what it’s like to care for someone.
You can help them secure the money they need to run a Summer of Fun by voting for their project.
