Avon and Somerset Police have arrested two men after a number of cars were damaged in the Twerton area of Bath early on Monday morning.

Officers were called at about 2.30am on Monday 3rd February to a report of cars being damaged and quickly arrested two men nearby.

They currently remain in police custody.

Speaking yesterday, Neighbourhood Inspector Steve Mildren said: “From about 7am this morning we started getting calls from people heading out and finding their cars had been damaged.

“Most had had their back window smashed and some were reporting items had been taken from the vehicles.

“We’re now working through, contacting the people who have already been in touch with us and finding the registered keepers of the damaged vehicles we were already aware of. It may take us a little while to get in touch, as we have had six calls already, reporting more than a dozen incidents.

“I’d ask anyone who has had their car damaged last night to give us a ring on 101 – please don’t assume that we already know about it. We have Crime Scene Investigators attending the incidents where we think there is scope for them to find evidence.

“I’d also ask anyone who has any information which could help our enquiries to call 101 as well.”

Police are requesting that anyone who had their car damaged on Monday morning that haven’t yet contacted police to get in touch with them to report the vandalism.
