Motorists travelling in Newbridge next week are being advised to allow extra time for their journey, as Wessex Water will be carrying out essential sewerage work on the junction of Newbridge Road and Old Newbridge Hill.
The work, which involves renovating a sewer pipe, starts on Monday 25th July for one week and temporary four way traffic lights will be in place.
Wessex Water will be using an innovative technique to repair the sewer which safeguards the existing pipe by lining it rather than completely replacing it.
It means the work, which would normally take more than a month, will be completed in just a week – minimising disruption for motorists and local people.
A company spokesperson said: “The work will cause some traffic disruption and we advise motorists to allow extra time for their journeys and commutes, or travel along an alternative route where possible.
“We would like to thank motorists and local residents in advance for their patience and cooperation while this essential work is completed.”
