The line between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads has been closed this evening after a person was hit by a train near Oldfield Park station.
Emergency services were alerted to the scene at around 8.45pm this evening, which is believed to involve the 8.43pm Bristol Temple Meads to London Paddington service.
Due to the fatality, trains are currently unable to run between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa.
First Great Western passengers are being advised to use First Buses on any reasonable route
There is no firm estimate yet of how long disruption will last but it is likely to continue until at least 22:30.
Services may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 mins or revised at short notice.
