Training takes place at the club’s home, Albert Field in Lansdown, at 7pm. Newcomers are welcome. Sessions got under way on Tuesday 8th July.

Last season, the Wal’s 1st XV finished in fourth place in the Level 7 division.

Walcot still face the long trip to the edge of Purbeck to take on Swanage & Wareham at Bestwall, Wareham, in 2025-26.

But Dorchester – another of the Dorset sides – have been relegated.

And there will be some more relatively local fixtures for the Wal during the new term.

Trowbridge 2nd XV have moved into the division for 2025-26, meaning two more derby games. Walcot will come up against Corsham, Chippenham 2nd XV, Melksham and Frome again.

The Wal will open their campaign at home to Marlborough 2nd XV on Saturday 6th September.

Walcot’s league fixtures in full:

  • September: 6th Marlborough 2nd XV (A), 13th Trowbridge 2nd XV (H).
  • October: 4th Devizes (A), 11th Melksham (H), 18th Chippenham 2nd XV (A).
  • November: 8th Swanage & Wareham (H), 22nd Salisbury (A), 29th Sherborne (A).
  • December: 6th Swindon (H), 13th Frome (A), 20th Corsham (H).
  • January: 10th Trowbridge 2nd XV (A), 17th Devizes (H), 24th Melksham (A).
  • February: 14th Chippenham 2nd XV (H), 28th Swanage & Wareham (A).
  • March: 7th Salisbury (H), 21st Sherborne (H), 28th Swindon (A).
  • April: 11th Frome (H), 18th Corsham (A), 25th Marlborough 2nd XV (H).

Walcot will travel to Midsomer Norton on Saturday 2nd August to take part in the Korev Bath Combination 7s.

But before that, the Wal will hold their annual meeting at Albert Field on Thursday 24th July (8pm).

Meanwhile, Walcot 2nd XV will compete in Counties 4 Tribute Ale Somerset North during 2025-26, following relegation.

Their first game in the Level 10 section will be at home to Midsomer Norton 3rd XV on Saturday 4th October.
