The 26-year-old back row – who joined the Blue, Black & White in 2023 – has renewed his contract, making him the fourth Bath player to put pen to paper this week.

Hill, who has won 63 caps and was part of the starting XV in the EPCR Challenge Cup final and the Gallagher PREM final last season, said: “To be renewing my contract at Bath is a really special moment for me.

“I’ve loved being part of this club, working alongside an amazing group of players and coaches whilst also playing in front of the amazing fans at The Rec.

“To extend my contract is really exciting as we continue to push for bigger and better things together as a club.”

Lock Quinn Roux, who joined Bath ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, has pledged himself to the club for another year.

Roux, who has earned 63 caps in Blue, Black & White, said: “The last few years with this club has been some of the most enjoyable years of my career. I’m not ready to end it just yet.”

Roux has played across four different domestic leagues, turning out in the United Rugby Championship, Top 14, Super Rugby and PREM, and has made 16 international appearances for Ireland.

Scrum-half Tom Carr-Smith has renewed his Bath contract until 2027.

The 23-year-old, who came through the club’s academy, has 49 caps.

Carr-Smith said: “The people of Bath Rugby mean everything to me and I feel incredibly grateful to be a part of such a special group.

“Bath is my home. I want to keep getting better and continue to win with this amazing club.”

Johann van Graan, Bath’s head of rugby, said: “What a great journey Ted has been on since his arrival at Bath.

“Not only has he developed into one of the best players in England, but he has crept deep into everyone’s hearts at our club.

“We’re very glad that Ted will be continuing his journey with us here in the Blue, Black and White.

“Quinn is one of the quieter men of the team, allowing his rugby to do the talking on the field.

“He’s developed into a very important player on and off the pitch for our club.

“We’re very glad that Quinn and his family will be continuing his journey at Bath.

“It’s been great to be part of Tom’s development at Bath Rugby, culminating in him featuring in the matchday 23 for all three finals in 2024-25.

“We’re very excited to see the heights that Tom can achieve over the next season.”

On Monday 16th February, Bath announced that full-back Tom de Glanville had renewed his contract, committing himself to the club until 2028.

Meanwhile, international rugby returns to The Rec this evening, Friday 20th February, when England face Ireland in the U20 Six Nations (7.45pm).

England will be captained once again by Bath back row Connor Treacey – and he is joined in the starting XV for the Round 3 match by his clubmate Tyler Offiah. This will be winger Offiah’s first start in the competition.

Under Treacey, England have a perfect record in this year’s U20 Six Nations, having beaten Wales 19-16 and Scotland 33-17.

After tonight’s game, they will face Italy in Treviso on Friday 6th March and will wrap up their campaign against France in La Rochelle on Sunday 15th March.

Will Parkin, England’s assistant coach, said: “We’ve put a big focus around connections off the pitch since coming together in January, and it’s been great to see this come to fruition in the opening two rounds when we’ve found ourselves in difficult positions.

“Learning from the weather and territory in Round 1 against Wales to what ill-discipline can lead to against Scotland…

“To continue the momentum we’ve built so far, it’s important that we learn from these previous experiences.

“We’ll continue to focus on ourselves and developing the skills that are required to play our game.

“We’ve had a good week of training and I’m looking forward to seeing the players run out at The Rec.

“We know there’s a big crowd coming to watch, which is a huge privilege, but also vital for supporting the players’ development as they progress through their careers.

“The boys are excited to put in a performance against Ireland that reflects our connected, courageous and relentless attitude.”
