The Down trailed 2-0 at half-time away to South Gloucestershire club Cadbury Heath, and then fell 3-0 behind.

The guests netted twice to give themselves a chance, but a Cadbury Heath goal from the spot meant Odd Down were staring defeat in the face at 4-2 down with 15 minutes to go.

However, substitute Matthew Hoare reduced the arrears – and James Hare, who came off the bench after 75 minutes, netted in injury-time to level matters.

Alfie Andrews and Dominic Walter hit Odd Down’s other goals.

Tyler Lane (2), Riley Gifford-Hobbs and Tom Withers (penalty) struck for Cadbury Heath.

The Down’s next match is a league encounter with Bristol club Mendip Broadwalk at Filwood Park Playing Fields on Saturday 9th August.

Meanwhile, the fixture list for Somerset County Women’s League Division Two has given Odd Down Women a visit to Wincanton Town on the opening day of the season, Sunday 7th September.
