Oldfield Old Boys to get Korev Bath Combination 7s under way

Oldfield Old Boys will feature in one of the two matches that get the 2025 Korev Bath Combination 7s under way.

The side from Shaft Road will face Trowbridge in the opening game on Pitch 1 at Norton Down, home of Midsomer Norton RFC, on Saturday 2nd August.

Two pitches will be used for the pool programme, which will feature 24 matches.

The first pool tie on each pitch will begin at 10.30am, with the last starting at 2.10pm.

Eight clubs from Bath & North East Somerset will be among the 16 outfits taking part.

The updated mini-leagues now see Oldfield, Walcot, Keynsham and Trowbridge in Pool A, Combe Down, Midsomer Norton, Chippenham and Devizes in Pool B, Bath Saracens, Corsham, Melksham and Warminster in Pool C and Old Sulians, Old Culverhaysians, Frome and Bradford-on-Avon in Pool D.

The top two sides from each pool will move into the quarter-finals of the Korev Bath Combination 7s Cup, the final taking place on Pitch 1 at 4.40pm.

The teams finishing third in each pool will advance to the semi-finals of the Korev Bath Combination 7s Plate, whose final will be played on Pitch 1 at 4.20pm.

Pool stages, Pitch 1: 10.30am – Trowbridge v Oldfield Old Boys; 10.50am – Melksham v Warminster; 11.10am – Keynsham v Walcot; 11.30am – Bath Saracens v Corsham; 11.50am – Trowbridge v Walcot; 12.10pm – Melksham v Corsham; 12.30pm – Keynsham v Oldfield Old Boys; 12.50pm – Bath Saracens v Warminster; 1.10pm – Trowbridge v Keynsham; 1.30pm – Melksham v Bath Saracens; 1.50pm – Walcot v Oldfield Old Boys; 2.10pm – Corsham v Warminster.

Pool stages, Pitch 2: 10.30am – Midsomer Norton v Chippenham; 10.50am – Frome v Bradford-on-Avon; 11.10am – Devizes v Combe Down; 11.30am – Old Sulians v Old Culverhaysians; 11.50am – Midsomer Norton v Combe Down; 12.10pm – Frome v Old Culverhaysians; 12.30pm – Devizes v Chippenham; 12.50pm – Old Sulians v Bradford-on-Avon; 1.10pm – Midsomer Norton v Devizes; 1.30pm – Frome v Old Sulians; 1.50pm – Combe Down v Chippenham; 2.10pm – Old Culverhaysians v Bradford-on-Avon.

Cup: quarter-final 1 – Pool A winner v Pool D runner-up, Pitch 1, 2.40pm; quarter-final 2 – Pool B winner v Pool C runner-up, Pitch 2, 2.40pm; quarter-final 3 – Pool C winner v Pool B runner-up, Pitch 1, 3pm; quarter-final 4 – Pool D winner v Pool A runner-up, Pitch 2, 3pm; semi-final 1 – quarter-final 1 winner v quarter-final 2 winner, Pitch 1, 3.40pm; semi-final 2 – quarter-final 3 winner v quarter-final 4 winner, Pitch 2, 3.40pm; final – semi-final 1 winner v semi-final 2 winner, Pitch 1, 4.40pm.

Plate: semi-final 1 – Pool A third place v Pool D third place, Pitch 1, 3.20pm; semi-final 2 – Pool B third place v Pool C third place, Pitch 2, 3.20pm; final – semi-final 1 winner v semi-final 2 winner, Pitch 1, 4.20pm.

The British & Irish Lions’ third Test against Australia will be screened live in the clubhouse (11am).
