The Robins, newly relegated to Pitching In Southern League Division One South, showed their class against their Step 6 hosts by running out 5-0 winners.

The Down, from Jewson Western League Division One, found themselves 2-0 adrift after only four minutes.

Sam Heal scored with his stomach in the second minute to open the scoring.

The lead was extended when a header from Archie Ferris hit the goalframe and the ball entered the net via the back of Odd Down’s keeper.

The match was killed as a contest when Town struck their third goal, with 13 minutes played. David Duru was the scorer, netting with a header.

And it was 4-0 after 41 minutes, Ferris doubling his tally for the afternoon.

The Robins made numerous changes for the second half and were restricted to just one more goal, one of their trialists completing the nap hand with 10 minutes to go.

Odd Down are in friendly action again tonight (Tuesday 15th July) when they entertain Paulton Rovers.
