The Down, from Jewson Western League Division One, and their South Bristol-based opponents, from uhlsport Somerset County League Division One, failed to find a goal between them in the match at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground.

Odd Down are in action again tonight (Tuesday 22nd July) when they entertain a Melksham Town XI in the Mark Brown Memorial Cup.

Brown, who died in March 2023, was the manager of the Down’s development team and previously played for Melksham.

Kick-off will be at 7.30pm and admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions and students. There is no charge for under-16s attending the fixture.

Last year, the Mark Brown Memorial Cup was won by Melksham.

Former Championship club Yeovil Town will be sending a side to Odd Down this autumn in the county cup.

The Down have been drawn at home to the Glovers – whose first team are now in the Enterprise National League – in the opening stage of the newly named Francis Hillier Premier Cup.

The first-round tie will be played at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground in October.

Yeovil played in the Championship in the 2013-14 season but dropped out of the Football League in 2019.
