Krish Mirchandani whacked 107 and Ollie Humphries grabbed seven wickets for Lansdown against Bitton
Mirchandani hit a six and 14 boundaries in his 109-ball knock as the Down romped to an 87-run success on Saturday 19th July.
Choosing to bat, Lansdown clocked up 241-9 in their 40 overs, opener Mirchandani the undoubted star of the innings.
He featured in a 149-run partnership for the second wicket with Ashton Williams, who made 52 off 62 balls before being caught.
That left the Down 159-2 – and of Mirchandani’s subsequent partners before he became seventh batter out, only number six Louis Mancini really troubled the scorers. Mancini was stumped for 31, including a six and four boundaries, off 32 balls.
Mirchandani was finally removed when he was bowled by Muhammad ul Hassan to leave Lansdown 227-7.
Extras proved the Down’s fourth-highest scorer, contributing 25 runs to the total.
Pick of the Bitton attack was ul Hassan, who, although not as economic as some of his team-mates, swooped for 4-34 in six overs.
The villagers had useful knocks from Muhammad Talha Murad (57) and skipper Raja Akhtar (48). But extras (23) proved their third-biggest contributor by far and, in the face of outstanding work by Humphries, Bitton were dismissed for 154 in 28.5 overs.
Humphries’ 2.5 overs brought him seven wickets for only six runs.
Table-topping Lansdown will make the trip to Midsomer Norton 3rd XI today (Saturday 26th July) in Division Nine East.
