The friendlies are over for Larkhall Athletic, whose competitive season will get under way on Saturday 2nd August with a visit to Beaconsfield Town in the Emirates FA Cup (3pm).

The Larks will take on the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central side in the extra preliminary round as they set out on the road to Wembley.

The Buckinghamshire outfit finished in mid-table last term, whereas Larkhall ended up two points clear of the Southern League Division One South drop zone.

Tickets for the clash at Holloways Park are £10 for adults and £6 for senior citizens and under-16s. However, under-16s will be admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.

Athletic completed their pre-season programme by holding Southern League Premier South members Hungerford Town to a 2-2 draw at Plain Ham on Tuesday 29th July.

Larkhall’s Alex Camm opened the scoring in the 10th minute but Hungerford led 2-1 at the break.

However, Ryan Beckinsale equalised on the hour when he drilled home direct from a free-kick. And Beckinsale could have sunk the guests from Berkshire, his half-volley whistling just over the bar.

The Larks were beaten 1-0 when they entertained uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division team Hallen in a friendly on Saturday 26th July. A second-half goal did the damage.

Meanwhile, Larkhall Development completed their friendlies by overcoming Nicholas Wanderers, from the Bristol Premier Combination League, 2-0 at Plain Ham on Friday 25th July.

The young Larks have been handed an away match against Bishops Cannings in the first round of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League’s Fountain Trophies Cup.

The tie is due to be played at Green Lane Playing Fields, Devizes, on Saturday 4th October, but this date is subject to the hosts’ possible involvement in the Wiltshire Junior Cup second round.

Bishops Cannings are from Division One, whereas Athletic are members of the Premier Division.

Larkhall will begin their Wiltshire Senior League campaign against Wroughton at Plain Ham on Saturday 2nd August (3pm) and will follow up with a trip to Calne Town Reserves on Tuesday 5th August (7.45pm).
