City of Bath men’s 1st rout Hereford for 12th league win on trot

Round-up of action from the local hockey scene – Saturday 24th January.

James Kellock scored four as City of Bath men’s 1st XI crushed their Hereford counterparts 12-0 on Saturday 24th January

City of Bath men’s 1st XI seem unstoppable in the league this season.

They made it 12 wins from 12 outings in West Hockey West Men’s Division 2 East by slamming Hereford 1st XI at Kingswood School on Saturday 24th January.

Appropriately the result was 12-0 – and once again James Kellock led the goalscoring.

He followed up his hat-trick against Chippenham 2nd XI on Saturday 17th January by scoring four times against Hereford, three of his goals coming from penalty corners.

John Jackson struck twice from penalty corners, there was a double from Tom Deverell, and a single apiece from Ellis Tootill, Scott Woolley (penalty stroke), Rhys Jones and Syd Arblaster completed the rout.

The result meant City of Bath have scored 18 times without reply against Hereford in the league this season, having thumped the side from the Marches 6-0 in September.

Grace Leggett and Kelly Read were on target to earn City of Bath women’s 1st XI a 2-0 success at Marlborough 1st XI in West Women’s Division 2 East.
