Bath City’s crunch match with Slough Town tonight, Tuesday 27th January, has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

The Romans had been due to take on the Rebels at the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park in a massive fixture involving two teams just above the Enterprise National League South relegation zone.
City lie in 19th place, two places and four points outside the danger area, and Slough are in 18th position, two points clear of Darren Way’s team but having played a game more.
But tonight’s big tussle was called off following a pitch inspection at 1.45pm, the stadium having been battered by heavy overnight rain.
In a statement issued shortly after the inspection, Bath said: “Tonight’s Enterprise National League South fixture against Slough Town has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
“All tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled fixture, and an announcement of a re-arranged date will be made in due course.”
City will next be in action on Saturday 31st January when they entertain Street, from the Jewson Western League, in the Francis Hillier Premier Cup, formerly the Somerset Premier Cup.
The Cobblers go into the quarter-final tie holding 14th place in the 19-team Western Premier Division, their match at home to Barnstaple Town tonight also being beaten by the weather.
Ticket prices for Saturday’s David v Goliath clash at the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park have been reduced.
And there is an additional 10% discount on tickets purchased before 11.45pm on Friday 30th January.

Meanwhile, Bath’s experienced midfielder Harry Pell has brought an end to his playing days.
The 34-year-old midfielder – who has played League football with Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham Town, AFC Wimbledon, Colchester United, Accrington Stanley and the now-defunct Hereford United – had a starring role on his debut for the Romans.
With Pell pulling the strings, they overcame visitors Salisbury 2-0 in National League South on Saturday 20th December.
However, injury forced Pell out of the Boxing Day derby at Chippenham Town after only 34 minutes – and for medical reasons he has now called time on his long career.
A statement from Bath said: “We are sad to announce that, following medical consultations and consideration for his future, Harry Pell has made the decision to retire as a footballer.
“An all too brief but effective cameo for the club and sincere best wishes go to Harry from all at the club.”
