Odd Down chalked up a superb 2-1 home victory over promotion-chasing Sturminster Newton United in Jewson Western League Division One on Saturday 27th September.

The Cherries, from North Dorset, headed to Bath having hit five goals or more on four occasions in Division One this season and boasting a goal-difference of 20 – the best in the league. But the Down proved too good for them.
All of the goals came in the second half at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground.
Alex Prior put the home side in front after 65 minutes – and substitute Alfie Andrews doubled the advantage 15 minutes later.

Stur set up a grandstand finale by netting through substitute George Coleman with five minutes remaining, but Odd Down held out to record their fourth victory of the Division One campaign.
The Down will travel to Warminster Town on Saturday 4th October for another league game (3pm).
Odd Down Development will be at home on the same day, facing Haydon Sports in Trophies of Radstock Mid-Somerset League Division One (2pm). The Down are unbeaten but Sports are without a win.
