There seems to be no stopping Odd Down at the moment.

The Bath side picked up their third successive victory – giving them nine points from nine in March – when they overcame Hengrove Athletic 2-0 at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground on Saturday 14th March.

The win over the struggling Grove meant the Down extended their unbeaten run in the Jewson Western League to five matches.

Their only defeat since their long lay-off – mainly due to the weather – early in the year came on Saturday 21st February, when they were beaten 3-0 at home by Longwell Green Sports.

After that, Odd Down recorded two draws before triumphing against Cheddar, Shirehampton and now Hengrove, the most recent success being their 10th of the Division One campaign.

And the Down have lost only once in eight league matches, a superb record.

Both goals in the win over basement side Hengrove came in the second half, courtesy of Odd Down man of the match Charlie Saunders.

He put the hosts ahead in the 68th minute and doubled the advantage in injury-time, the result cementing their 13th place in the table.

Odd Down: Oscar Morris, James Hare, Lewis Bahadur, Josh Howlett, Joe Paraside, Charlie Saunders, Treyvond Anderson, James Scott (Tobey Snelling, 88), Stan Dickenson (Toby Davis, 80), Jack Paul (Sam Smith, 85), Alfie Andrews (Jasper Morris, 65).

The Down face two league matches over the next few days.

They will visit Almondsbury on Saturday 21st March (3pm) and receive Cadbury Heath at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground on Tuesday 24th March (7.45pm).

Odd Down Development marched into the second round of the Trophies of Radstock Mid Somerset League’s Dimmock Green Cup by winning 1-0 at High Littleton on 14th March.

Substitute Balla Jobe bagged the 78th-minute decider for the Devs, who will entertain Chilcompton Sports Reserves in the quarter-finals on Saturday 18th April. A clash with Westfield Reserves in the semis awaits the winners of that tie.

Odd Down Development will be at home to Peasedown Albion Reserves tonight, Wednesday 18th March, in a first-versus-third encounter in Mid Somerset League Division One (7.30pm).

And on 21st March, the Devs will visit Langport Town – from Yeovil & District League Division One – in the Somerset Intermediate Cup quarter-finals (2pm).
