Odd Down 1st XI beaten by weather again – but Devs and Women win
Odd Down were left without a 1st XI game for the second successive weekend when their scheduled home clash with Bitton was postponed.

The Jewson Western League Division One derby at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground on Saturday 6th December was called off because of a waterlogged pitch. It has been rearranged for Saturday 28th February (3pm).
The postponement followed the Down’s league match at AEK Boco on Saturday 29th November also being called off due to a waterlogged pitch. The fixture at Greenbank Road in Hanham has been rearranged for Saturday 31st January (3pm).
Odd Down, whose last outing was against Bath City in the Francis Hillier Premier Cup on Tuesday 2nd December, will be hoping for good fortune with the weather on Saturday 13th December, when they visit title hopefuls Wells City in the league (3pm).

Wells will be looking to complete the double over the Down, having triumphed 4-2 at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground on Saturday 1st November.
Meanwhile, striker Harley Prior has left the Down to join Western Premier side Shepton Mallet. The former Larkhall Athletic man’s hopes of turning out for his new club on Saturday 6th December were scuppered by the weather, as Mallet’s scheduled league match at Cornish club St Blazey fell victim to the weather.
Odd Down Development took the points from a thrilling match at Pilton United in Trophies of Radstock Mid Somerset League Division One on Saturday 6th December.
The table-topping Down extended their unbeaten start to the league season to nine games by winning 5-4.
The hosts, described by Odd Down as physical, grabbed three goals in the opening 25 minutes. But the Down hit back to ensure the match was level at 3-3 at the break – and they went on to claim maximum points.
Stan Dickenson hit a hat-trick for the victors and there was a goal apiece from Cheiku Boye and substitute Luis Himdi.

Odd Down Development will complete their 2025 fixtures when they entertain Peasedown Albion Reserves in the Paulton Hospital Cup second round on Saturday 13th December (2pm).
Odd Down Women were also successful last weekend, romping 6-1 at Taunton’s Staplegrove Ladies on Sunday 7th December. That means they have won eight and drawn one of their nine matches in Somerset County Women’s League Division Two this term and hold a seven-point lead at the summit.
Erin Cahoon struck four times for the Down, who led 4-0 at the interval. Isabella Chee and Erin Watkins also scored for the visitors, who named Emmie Hawkes their player of the match.
Odd Down Women will conclude their 2025 programme by receiving Ilminster Town Ladies in the league on Sunday 14th December (2pm).
