Frost meant that games at the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park against Ebbsfleet United in Enterprise National South on Saturday 3rd January and Southend United in the Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday 10th January bit the dust.

And the county-cup quarter-final against the Cobblers, from the Jewson Western League Premier Division, was postponed because of rain.

A statement from the club shortly before 5pm on 20th January said: “Tonight’s Francis Hillier Premier Cup tie against Street has been postponed.

“Following an inspection, with the pitch already very wet and a forecast for heavy rain all evening, the match referee has called the match off.

“A new date for the tie will be announced in due course.”

Portishead Town are already through to the semis.

The other quarter-finals in the competition formerly known as the Somerset Premier Cup will see Wincanton Town entertain Wells City on Tuesday 27th January and Frome Town host the winners of the last-16 tie between Paulton Rovers and Weston-super-Mare.

The Paulton-Weston fixture was due to played on 20th January but was another game beaten by the rain.

The Romans now turn their attention back to the league, with the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park due to host two big matches over the next few days.

Worthing will come to Somerset on Saturday 24th January (3pm) and Slough Town will provide the opposition on Tuesday 27th January (7.45pm).

City are in 19th place in the National League South table but they received a boost on 20th January when Hampton & Richmond Borough – two points and two places behind them – lost 1-0 at home to Chesham United.

West Sussex club Worthing top the table but the game against Slough will pit Bath against the club currently directly in front of them in the standings.
