In front of a crowd of 123 at Weymouth Street, Jack Newman handed Warminster a first-half lead.

Corey Gardner made it 2-0 after the break and Tyler Gane came off the bench to grab the third goal.

Five Odd Down players were booked – four of them in the second half. Charlie Saunders (44), Joe Paradise (53), Jack Kelsey (75), Rob Hobbs (78) and Josh Howlett (85) were all shown the yellow card, along with Town’s Owen Bartley and Braden Humphreys.

The Down will be back on league duty on Saturday 11th October when they welcome Bristol Telephones to the Lew Hill Memorial Ground (3pm).

And on Tuesday 14th October, Odd Down will go to Premier Division strugglers Oldland Abbotonians in the league’s Les Phillips Cup (7.30pm).

Odd Down Development drew 3-3 with visitors Haydon Sports in Trophies of Radstock Mid Somerset League Division One on Saturday 4th October. The result meant the young Down team extended their unbeaten start to the season to four matches.

Luis Himdi, Balla Jobe and Cheiku Boye netted for Odd Down, whose next league game is away to Chew Magna Reserves on Saturday 18th October.

Odd Down Women also drew last weekend, 2-2 at home to Portishead Town Ladies A in Somerset County Women’s League Division Two on Sunday 5th October.

Table-topping Down are a point clear of second-placed Street but have played one match more than the Cobblers.
