The Down bounced back superbly from their 8-0 caning by Mangotsfield United Women to overcome well-organised visitors Bishops Cleeve Ladies Development on Sunday 17th August.

A goal apiece from Elise Macer and Olivia Brain ensured the hosts led 2-1 at the interval at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground – and that was the way it stayed.

Keeper Rosie Kelsey was named the Down’s star performer.

Odd Down followed up by facing FC Chippenham Ladies away on Wednesday 20th August, the guests prevailing 3-1 at Stanley Park.

The Down – who changed ends with a 2-1 advantage – struck through Sophia Wright, Jessica Bailey and Isabella Brooking.

Young Emmie Hawkes was named the winners’ player of the match.

Odd Down Women will travel to Cheddar for another friendly on Sunday 24th August (2pm).
