City Women pegged back by Stockwood, Odd Down Women romp in cup

Bath City Women took the lead but had to settle for a point when they visited Stockwood Wanderers on Sunday 16th November.

The Shield Services Group South West Regional Women’s League Division One North match ended 1-1, Jasmine Rennie giving the Romans an internal lead but Stockwood pegging them back thanks to a 60th-minute goal from Charley Friend.

The result left City in seventh place in the table, with Wanderers – who have won only once in the league this season – in the relegation zone.

Bath City Women Development were without a game on Sunday 16th November. But they will go to Wellington Wildcats on Sunday 23rd November (2pm) for a third-versus-second encounter in Somerset County Women’s League Division One.

Erin Cahoon scored four times as Odd Down Women cruised past hosts Street Women in the Somerset Women’s Junior Cup first round on Sunday 16th November.

The Down won 6-2 and sent out a strong message of intent to the Mendip outfit ahead of the resumption of Somerset County Women’s League Division Two action. Odd Down top the table, with Street a point behind in second spot.

Olivia Brain scored twice for the Down in the cup tie. They led 3-1 at half-time.

Unsurprisingly, Cahoon was named the visitors’ player of the match at the Tannery Ground.

Odd Down will face Wincanton Town Ladies in a league match at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground on Sunday 23rd November (2pm).

When the sides met in South Somerset on Sunday 7th September, the Down romped to a 9-3 success.
