Larkhall Athletic Development stretched their unbeaten run in the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior Football League Premier Division to four matches by drawing 1-1 at home to Shrewton United on Wednesday 27th August.

Like the Larks, Shrewton went into the game having lost only league fixture this term.

And the side from near Stonehenge took the lead at the Camella Stadium with a 30-yard free-kick from Tom Plank.

The sides changed ends with United still in front, despite Athletic dominating the first half.

Larkhall kept up the pressure in the second period and levelled with a 65th-minute goal from James Okell.

The hosts said their display was their best of the season, but they praised Shrewton’s defence and keeper.

Okell was also on target on Saturday 23rd August. He bagged a hat-trick as the Larks drubbed hosts Shrivenham 5-1 in the league.

Okell struck twice in the opening 27 minutes – and a goal from James Payton opened up a 3-0 advantage, only for James Hirst to pull one back for Shrivvy before the break.

However, there was no let-up from the visitors in the second half. Ben Wickens made it 4-1 and Okell netted again on the hour to complete the nap hand.

Larkhall Development will be back at the Camella Stadium on Saturday 30th August, when they take on their Royal Wootton Bassett Town counterparts in the Premier Division (3pm).

The Larks have been drawn at home to Wells City Reserves in the Somerset Senior Cup first round. The tie must be played on or before Saturday 4th October.
