Odd Down must be wondering if they will ever play again in the Jewson Western League.

They endured yet another postponement when their scheduled Division One derby at promotion-chasing Bitton on Saturday 14th February was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.

The Down have not played since they beat Welton Rovers 4-1 at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground on Saturday 10th January.

At the conclusion of the Valentine’s Day fixtures, only one of the division’s 20 members, Almondsbury, had played fewer matches than the Combe Hay Lane club.

Odd Down’s game at Bitton has been rearranged for Tuesday 17th March (7.30pm).

Weather permitting, the Down will play their 25th match of the Western League campaign when they entertain Longwell Green Sports at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground on Saturday 21st February (3pm).

Odd Down Development were able to play on 14th February, beating guests Clutton Reserves 2-0 in the Paulton Hospital Cup quarter-finals.

Both goals came in the second half, Stan Dickenson and Brandon Anstey on target as Odd Down became the first side to reach the semis.

The Devs have another big knockout tie on Saturday 21st February when they host Minehead-based Alcombe Rovers, from the Centregreat Taunton & District Saturday League, at Odd Down Sports Ground in the Somerset Intermediate Cup fourth round (2pm).

Odd Down are top of Trophies of Radstock Mid Somerset League Division One, boasting an unbeaten record, and Alcombe lie in third sport in Taunton Division One.
